Interactive travel app: NZ Journeys
Co-creators Steve and Penny Bicknell have launched the North Island version of New Zealand Journeys for iPads, describing it as “a top-notch resource for travellers looking to experience the ‘real’ New Zealand”.
“The North Island version of the app contains almost 500 pages and 1500 photos that celebrate heartland New Zealand,” says Steve Bicknell. “People can see these aren’t standard stock shots. Many of our most interesting photos are off the tourist track or aerial images.”
All the journeys are illustrated with interactive maps, and informative hyperlinks to relevant third-party websites help give a well-rounded view of the country.
This interactive app allows exploration of New Zealand in a completely new way. Split into seventeen ‘journeys’, each tells a story of the landscape, the people and the culture of heartland New Zealand, illustrated with stunning imagery.
The apps are a result of two years on the road in a motorhome with pilot, Penny, flying 100 hours in a light aircraft and Steve, a professional photographer, taking 16,000 photos from the air and the ground.
The South Island version is currently in production and will be available shortly.
The app is available in the App Store through apple iTunes, or contact Go Pix at email@example.com
